Healing Childhood Trauma: My Expertise and Story

I have always been deeply curious about people—their journeys, their families, their beginnings, their experiences and childhood traumas that have shaped them into who they are today. Every story carries a unique thread, and I find profound meaning in connecting with others through their stories. Now, I’d like to share a part of mine.

My Journey to Becoming a Psychotherapist

My path into psychotherapy began with one of the most transformative experiences of my life: my time as a foster parent. Caring for children who carried the weight of trauma in their young hearts opened my eyes to childhood trauma and the complexities of emotional healing. Their unexplained outbursts of anger, struggles with control, and deep emotional wounds showed me that love alone—while powerful—was not always enough to meet their needs.

In the process, I began to confront some of my own unresolved childhood traumas—wounds I hadn’t even been aware of at the time. I came to understand how trauma, particularly in childhood, can profoundly impact a person’s ability to trust, grow, and thrive. Yet, I also learned that with the right support, a nurturing environment, and therapeutic guidance, healing is not only possible but transformative.

I have come to view trauma as part of my story—something that has shaped me but does not define me. Over the years, I’ve realized that I have the power to decide what role trauma plays in my life. This profound shift in perspective, born out of both personal and professional experience, fueled my passion for understanding trauma and its enduring influence on people’s lives.

This passion led me to retrain as a psychotherapist, becoming a UKCP-registered Transactional Analyst at London’s renowned Metanoia Institute. My education and training have deepened my ability to help others navigate the path to healing, and I have dedicated my career to empowering people to overcome their childhood traumas and transform their lives.
