MY SERVICES

PSYCHOTHERAPY

We all, from time to time, experience challenges or difficulties at certain times in our lives that bring about a range of emotions from excitement to hopelessness. Experiences, whether welcomed or dreaded, are always around the corner and can bring about great opportunities or leave us feeling stuck, lost, anxious, distressed or isolated. Sometimes it is difficult to talk to those closest to us about the things that trouble us the most for fear of burdening or being judged by them. Talking to a trained psychotherapist in a safe, caring, confidential and therapeutic setting can help one explore their needs, worries and difficulties without judgment. Psychotherapy concentrates on underlying aspects of personality that arise from deep-seated issues from childhood and prevent the person from living life to the full.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  1. We'll begin with a brief phone conversation to give me a sense of the support you seek. I'll ask for some basic information to get to know you and use this time to answer any questions you might have. We will schedule an in-person or online appointment if we are a good fit for working together.

  2. In the first few sessions, I will learn more about you and together, we will explore the goals you have for therapy. Do you want to build healthier relationships? Learn how to manage emotions and stress better—or even identify patterns that keep us "stuck" in our lives.

  3. The length and number of sessions will differ depending on your goals and needs for therapy. For some, a handful of sessions to address an acute issue will be enough, versus others may need consistent, weekly sessions for months or years, depending on their needs.  We can discuss this further to ensureyou receive the support you seek.

COUPLES THERAPY

It is normal for relationships to have highs and lows from time to time. However, the pressures and strain of everyday life can begin to take their toll on the relationship.

Suddenly the relationship that once seemed so great in the beginning now seems problematic. When a relationship starts losing intimacy and trust, we are affected deeply, and our health and happiness suffer.

My goal is to engage couples in fostering a deep understanding and communication.  To guide couples away from unhelpful patterns that create discord and mistrust and highlight areas of connectedness to restore relational intimacy.

SUPERVISION

As a Clinical Supervisor, I supervise the training of psychotherapists and the ongoing work of qualified psychotherapists and other professionals, such as social workers and health care providers.

I believe in creating a collegial environment in which each supervisee can reflect on their work and their reactions to it through a focus of mutual enquiry. Throughout this process, my objective is to facilitate the opportunity for supervisees to practice ethically, develop new strategies, and attend to the safety of the client and issues of self–care.

CORPORATE TRAINING

As an experienced trainer, coach and psychotherapist, I know a stagnant business is one that falls behind its competitors. Regular training is essential to your company's and your staff's success or failure.

My trainings are designed to help you maintain your competitive edge, engage employees more, and increase job satisfaction. I also consult with fostering organisations that want to expand their therapeutic knowledge and resources. I support them by providing therapeutic training for their foster parents and social workers.
